Heating and Hot Water
At Michael Grace, we specialise in Oil Fired Boilers, including fuel storage vessels and all associated system installations, replacements, upgrades, servicing and breakdowns on all oil fired systems.
Installations / Replacements / Upgrades
We install regular and combination boilers and as from April 2007, most oil fired boilers that are installed in England & Wales must be Condensing Boilers (High Efficiency) which comply with part L of the building regulations.
These new regulations also apply to your system controls, therefore, a system upgrade is required to a fully pumped system – better for you the customer, not only have you a more efficient boiler, but you have control of your new system by use of a room thermostat and programmer – providing the desired heat at the desired time! Furthermore, thermostatic radiator valves are installed on all new and replacement systems / radiators, giving you individual temperature control.
Annual Servicing / Efficiency Checks
We recommend you have your boiler/burner serviced at least once per year, to ensure it continues to run safely and efficiently – helping to make sure it doesn’t let you down when you need it most!
Our boiler service consists of a full service to the burner & boiler. We remove and examine the baffles, clean the combustion chamber and check all seals, gaskets and oil line – replacing if necessary.
Servicing is carried out by our highly trained OFTEC registered engineers, at a time to suit you. Our annual service fee is very competitive, at around £60 incl VAT – should you wish to spread the cost via direct debit, this can be arranged too.
We will then send you out a little reminder before your next service is due, so we can arrange a convenient time in advance.
!!! Most boiler breakdowns can be prevented with regular servicing !!!
We can perform an efficiency check on your boiler, making sure it’s running at its most efficient, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
Breakdowns
In the unfortunate event of a boiler breakdown, we aim to get to you within 24 working hours. We carry an extensive range of spares on our vans, which mean that almost all breakdowns attended can be fixed and your system restored the same day.

We have both male and female plumbers, all fully qualified and registered with corgi; and as mentioned on our homepage, all work is fully insured and guaranteed, giving you peace of mind knowing that you’ve got the right person for the right job! Should you feel more comfortable having our Lady plumber attend, just request this when you call.

Emergency repairs – not a problem! We aim to be with you within the hour. Depending on the problem, we can either make the necessary repairs there and then; or in the case of a larger job, make it safe to limit further damage/danger to you and your property. We can then give you an estimate of the cost of repairs before any further work is undertaken.

Insurance Work - All insurance work is undertaken, and although we provide free estimates on all our work, we do charge for an Insurance Quotation. It is a flat fee of £20.00 to cover the time and cost of the visit to assess damage and admin to provide the quote. It is payable upon the visit and totally refundable upon completion of the work.
